About

Carrie Mae White was born on October 10th, 1938 in Suffolk Virgina. After graduatiing high school she would move to Brooklyn, New York for several years until she finally settled in Paterson, New Jersey.  She was dedicated to her serving her community and found her passion being a foster parent.

After her passing on November 8th, 2022, her great granddaughter, Felicity Rivera, was devastated and wanted to find a way to honor her legacy and continue spreading the love her great grandmother gave to her unto others. On March 27th, 2023 Felicity would found Carrie Mae's Legacy on her college campus, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Carrie Mae's Legacy now has over 50 general body members who actively volunteer and contribute to the movement of advocating for youth in care.  We work with several agencies within the Triad to ensure we are providing the best support and resources to the youth.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
